In my last post I wrote that May has been eventful & put all the wonderful blessings May has been, but if I am being truthful in this blog, it hasn't been all rainbows & butterflies...Between the bliss, reality has been this: A tornado destroyed the place that I have called home for the last 4 years & my graduation was postponed to August, which I will sadly be in Spain for :(...Everyone left town super fast and made saying good-bye to anyone a very difficult feat. I stayed in town, because I wanted to help & couldn't deal with leaving yet, the one day I leave for a bridal tea I was hit by an 18-wheeler on the interstate (luckily I was safe & my car just suffered from a completely dented in left back/bumper) and due to the tornado stuff the police lines weren't very attentive so it was just un-reported. I was looking very much forward to Cinco de Mayo since that is probably my favorite holiday in Tuscaloosa & mis amigos de espanol were going to fiesta, but I woke up thinking I was dying & mommy had to come get me...just turned out I had severe strep throat & 102 fever...that was right before graduation also so I wasn't able to drink mimosas in my cap & gown with my friends in honor of our "graduation"...next thing I know I am getting my tonsils out (since that strep was a reflection of the shape my tonsils were in.. & of course my recovery took 3 weeks as opposed to 2...I ran over a pot and caused my dad to have to buy a new tire for his car, add a few other less dramatic things sprinkled in there made me not a very optimistic person...I was under the impression that bad news is supposed to come in 3s, not 300s and then the worst news of all....I might not get to Spain until August because of a delay in processing my Visa & I would miss out on babysitting my kiddos...come on you would be depressed if you thought you were missing the opportunity to improve your spanish and spend everyday with these lovies:
However, there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel & all of these negatives rapidly turned to positives!! Due to the delay, when I leave I will be completely over my tonsillectomy (since I'm still sore & occasional ear pressure issues), I get to go to my Nana's the weekend before the 4th & say good-bye to my dad's side of the family and the beach, then spend the 4th at Granny's & say good-bye to my whole Mom's side && it's the first time I have been in the USA for 4th in 2 years, I get to say good-bye to a lot more of my friends than I thought possible, plusss I still get to spend a lot of time with my Spanish family & help them move to Poland and get settled in. Yay! Needless to say, I am back to the old me and I still believe with all my heart that EVERYTHING happens for a REASON!!
