The Light at the End of the Tunnel.

If you have been around me the past month, I haven't quite been my perky, happy, normal Audrey.  I have been viewing the cup slightly half empty rather than my usual observation that it is ALWAYS half full & there is ALWAYS a silver lining.  I have still been happy, but I have been letting little stuff get me down...
In my last post I wrote that May has been eventful & put all the wonderful blessings May has been, but if I am being truthful in this blog, it hasn't been all rainbows & butterflies...Between the bliss, reality has been this: A tornado destroyed the place that I have called home for the last 4 years & my graduation was postponed to August, which I will sadly be in Spain for :(...Everyone left town super fast and made saying good-bye to anyone a very difficult feat.  I stayed in town, because I wanted to help & couldn't deal with leaving yet, the one day I leave for a bridal tea I was hit by an 18-wheeler on the interstate (luckily I was safe & my car just suffered from a completely dented in left back/bumper) and due to the tornado stuff the police lines weren't very attentive so it was just un-reported. I was looking very much forward to Cinco de Mayo since that is probably my favorite holiday in Tuscaloosa & mis amigos de espanol were going to fiesta, but I woke up thinking I was dying & mommy had to come get me...just turned out I had severe strep throat & 102 fever...that was right before graduation also so I wasn't able to drink mimosas in my cap & gown with my friends in honor of our "graduation"...next thing I know I am getting my tonsils out (since that strep was a reflection of the shape my tonsils were in.. & of course my recovery took 3 weeks as opposed to 2...I ran over a pot and caused my dad to have to buy a new tire for his car, add a few other less dramatic things sprinkled in there made me not a very optimistic person...I was under the impression that bad news is supposed to come in 3s, not 300s and then the worst news of all....I might not get to Spain until August because of a delay in processing my Visa & I would miss out on babysitting my kiddos...come on you would be depressed if you thought you were missing the opportunity to improve your spanish and spend everyday with these lovies:
Mencia

Marcelo

Vero & Marcelo

Casilda (who will be HUGE now!)

 Gonzalo

However, there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel & all of these negatives rapidly turned to positives!! Due to the delay, when I leave I will be completely over my tonsillectomy (since I'm still sore & occasional ear pressure issues), I get to go to my Nana's the weekend before the 4th & say good-bye to my dad's side of the family and the beach, then spend the 4th at Granny's & say good-bye to my whole Mom's side && it's the first time I have been in the USA for 4th in 2 years, I get to say good-bye to a lot more of my friends than I thought possible, plusss I still get to spend a lot of time with my Spanish family & help them move to Poland and get settled in. Yay!  Needless to say, I am back to the old me and I still believe with all my heart that EVERYTHING happens for a REASON!!

MY SISTER IS GETTING MARRRIEEEDDDDDD!!!!!!!

It finally set in.
I actually thought about the fact that my only sister is getting married!!
The date is set for June 23, 2012.
Today we did our first round of dress shopping.
I know, I know it is very early to start this, but my sister loves me so she let us go before I left to pick out the bridesmaid dress at least.......

Weeeelllllll, while we were there I made her try on 5 dresses just so I could see her in a wedding dress.  Dress #1, ehhh.  Dress #2...when she came out to the main room, we knew that was the dress.  When the veil was put on....my step mom and I literally cried. My sister is the most beautiful bride I have EVER seen.  Dress #3,4,5 were all very pretty; however, no comparison.
Although I realize we still have a year before the wedding, I will be shocked if we didn't find the dress today. :) :)

After shopping, we came back to my Daddy's house and got to see my sweet little pups.

I know, Be jealous.

All kinds of NEW.

First blog entry: The title of my blog is "con todo mi corazon".....in english this means "With all of my heart".  I chose this title because I hope to embrace every moment with all of my heart and of course I will miss all of you guys next year with literally all of my heart....ohh and there is music at the bottom of the page so listen if you like :)

Friday, June 3, 2011 at 9:30 AM I had a tonsilectomy.  Normally I recover quite fast from anything... Needless to say that was my thought process about this operation.  "Normal people take 10 days to recover...I will take about 4."  The first two days, I felt no pain.. so I decided I wasn't even going to have much recovery time at all.  FALSE.
Here I am on my 7th day of recovery still unable to eat, unable to do much out of the house...
NEW fact number 1: turns out I am human. :(

Boredom has created all kinds of new events.
NEW fact number 2: I started my blog a month early.
NEW fact number 3: I am going to fail the GRE,but more on that later.
NEW fact number 4: I have started saying "legenadary" and "awesome" far too much, but that comes from the fact that I have watched 5 seasons of How I Met Your Mother in 7 days #notproud
NEW fact number 5: I am OBSESSED with my new camera...(I have taken an unreal amount of photos)

Last night I escaped the boredom of my recovery to visit some friends and a very very special little "niece" of mine.

Don't worry, we know.  Brylee Gracyn is the hands down cutest child.
Not only was it wonderful to get to play with my little booger, but as always so wonderful to get to spend some quality time with Bubba & Brittney.  I just wish I got to see them more.  For now, SKYPE is amazing.

May has been quite eventful:

I graduated college! No photos because the ceremony was post-poned until August due to the tornado damage (however I will already be in Espana.)

My oldest brother, Matty, got married!

My baby brother graduated high school!

My sister got engaged!

A day later...one of my oldest friends, Taylor, got engaged!

Needless to say there has been a whole lot of celebrating going on this way!!
And the last NEW fact-I WILL BE SPENDING THE NEXT YEAR IN SEVILLA!!
I was finally placed in a school and I will definitely be with kiddos rather than adults, YAY! I am so excited about this new journey!

Now it is time to commence Season 6 of How I Met Your Mother and hopefully nap.

Adios Amigos :)
