I want to remember this forever.

Better times! More wholesome times... Times I will explain to my kids but they will not truly understand....

Sorry for 2 posts in one day, but like the title says... I want to remember this forever.

90s children

10 Things 90s Kids Will Have To Explain To Their Children

While most things we experienced as tots in that headiest of eras seems pretty self-explanatory (plaid was everywhere, Leonardo DiCaprio was the molten ball of light around which the solar system turned, and there was no color too bright for your sweatpants) there are some things that will be a bit harder to explain. Here, a primer for when your future children want to know what the hell you were doing with your boxy, multicolored electronics.
NOV. 23, 2011
1. Topanga was at some point in human history considered not only a legitimate first name for a human being, but the kind of name that would inspire in malleable teenage boys a life-long infatuation. Topanga, in our day, was leading lady name-material. Topanga (pronounced Tah-payne-ga, for those who will have only ever seen in it written down) is the name of the quintessential girl-next-door who will live, along with Feeney, in our hearts forever.
2. At some point, we carried around little plastic eggs with tiny screens on them — in these screens lived our hearts, our pets, our raison d’etre, our very own Tamagotchi. We loved them, we listened to their tiny electronic screams of malnourishment, and we occasionally forgot to pick up their poop for long enough that they died a tortured, poop-filled death. They were perhaps our first foray into the life-consuming world of electronics and self-absorption, later to be fully manifested by Facebook.
3. The black Power Ranger was black and the yellow Power Ranger was Asian because…we were so completely ahead of our time and beyond the capacity to even think in terms of something as inconsequential as race that… uh… I don’t know. Casting directors were racist in the nineties.
4. Long before he was spending his days foisting his mediocre children on us, Will Smith was actually the perfect human specimen. He also undoubtedly holds some world record for saving the world the most times while simultaneously delivering flawless catchphrases and giving cool guy nods to the camera. The Men In Black rap song, at the time, was created and received by the public without the slightest trace of irony. Really. He wasthat good.
5. In some inevitable shift of the time-space continuum in which James Cameron continues to rob humanity of all that is good and sacred in this world, Fern Gully will be known as that movie that ripped off Avatar. It will be up to us to crusade for what is right. It is up to us to explain that Fern Gully was not only a predecessor to Avatar, but far better, in that it contained both Tim Curry as a singing pile of molasses and Robin Williams rapping about animal testing in the pharmaceutical industry. (As a side note, if you have not recently listened to the full lyrics of the “Batty Rap,” I recommend you do, as they are horrifying.)
6. A neighborhood boy who completely disregards your family and puts a ladder directly under the teenage girl’s window to climb up at his discretion is not only acceptable, it’s charming. It’s the kind of stuff that would make said family take the ladder boy under their wing and into their heart. The nineties were a simpler time, one where we didn’t have to worry about things like breaking and entering. Clarissa today would have steel bars on the inside of her window and her father would continually remind her that the next-door boy with his ladder and his touchy hands have no place in his household.
7. Though on the surface, they are the exact same thing in every conceivable way, whether you liked The Backstreet Boys or N*SYNC said more about your character than all of the terrible macaroni art you could ever make for your child psychologist. Essentially, liking *NSYNC meant you liked Justin Timberlake, as he was clearly the Seabiscuit in that race from the get-go. You even liked him with his terrible, icy-blond mini-fro. Liking the Backstreet Boys gave you a bit more of a cultured palate, as there was no clear Diana in those Supremes. Nick was kind of the wholesome, if northern-Florida-redneck safe choice (save for his humiliating younger brother, Aaron). Brian was the shy, sensitive type. AJ was the hottt, dangerous meth addict. Kevin Richardson was mute with sexy, sculpted facial hair. No one liked Howie. Choosing between the two groups was like choosing between two beloved children, but once that line was crossed–there was no going back.
8. “I wanna really really really wanna zig a zig ahh,” has a meaning, and all true nineties kids know it, but we must never share it. Like the Illuminati, it must remain between us, the keyholders. With great power comes great responsibility.
9. Lisa Frank is not the name of a woman, it is the name of a movement, a culture, a way of living. It is a theory, a concept, a belief in something greater than yourself. It is the belief that all girls are entitled to dolphins covered with rainbows, jewel-encrusted frogs, and unicorns in acid-trip colors hugging each other. It is the ideology that no notebook is complete until it literally hurts your eyes to look at from so much color saturation. It is the hope that no school supply, no matter how insignificant, will be left un-bedazzled. It is the knowledge that your eraser cap, and that of your granddaughter’s, and her granddaughter’s after her, will not be some boring little nub–it will be a diamond covered with butterflies in a rainbow of colors. It is the dream of a better tomorrow.
10. Incredibly depressing women in Indiana covered in cats and glass figurines they buy at The Hallmark Store used to troll the web 1.0 to invest thousands of dollars in tiny stuffed animals filled with plastic beans. That happened. Beanie Babies were not just significant, they were the first example most of us had of envy, greed, and wrath. If someone messed up that little heart-shaped Ty tag, so help you God, that was the end of whatever contact you had with that monster of a human being. That tag-less Beanie Baby was now trash, and you had to deal with the consequence. It was at that moment, that de-valued Beanie Baby moment, that most of us accepted the truth… we’ll never have nice things. TC mark

In addition to this article I just want to say that always Friends, The Wonder Years & Saved by the Bell were a huge part of my life...

Tomorrow AFRICAAAA!!!

<3

Baby, it's cold outside.

20 day Countdown.

In honor of Christmas and me being home super soooonnn, I will give you a 20 things I am excited about doing when I get home/miss about home.

1. Duh, friends & family. No question. Can't wait to see you guys--even those of you who don't read this.
2. My bed. My warm, cozy, comfy, bed with my nice big pottery barn blanket on top! Literally CANNOT wait....
3. I know it's in the same realm, but if you know me, you know I am a FREAK about my pillow.  So I think a good fluffy pillow deserves it's own number. I think mine is the best and I never sleep as good of a night without it or one extremely fluffy.  Blame my father and his need to have his same pillow for years until he gave it to me because I loved it just as much... (don't worry, its not the same pillow from my youth, I just have a pillow type).
4. Chick-fil-a.
5. Fire: fireplaces, smores, camp fires, etc.
6. My mom making me get out of my warm bed for church.  We have a system.  She wakes me, I refuse to get up, I whine, she tries again, I complain, she makes me, I say I don't want to go, she says fine I'm leaving in 5 minutes with or without you.  That is the wake up call. I brush my teeth, put an outfit together, attempt to tame my hair and we leave 15 minutes later.  Always a little late, but always together :)
7. A DRYER. I can't stress this...I will definitely say this list is in no order because if it was this would probabbllyyy be number 1.  In the summer I always leave thinking how energy efficient Spain is and how I actually like that we don't use dryers.  I have this spirit of doing good inside me...That's because in the summer the sun is baking the clothes dry, so you run one errand, eat lunch, take a nap, whatever you choose and come back to dry, warm clothes.  Winter is a WHOLE different matter. I would kill for a dryer.  Literally. Now I put my clothes out and wait days...if I don't catch it at the exact moment they are dry then the process starts over again thanks to morning dew/dampness...I give up most of the time... I have 2 shirts on the roof that have been there since Sunday...still damp this morning. Yay.  I  can't wait to put my sweats and t-shirts in the dryer and put them on immediately with that warm toasty feeling I haven't felt in 6 months.  Ahhhhh! Can't WAIT!
8. On the topic of being warm... HEAT! I love how I can walk around my house in shorts and a t-shirt in the winter no matter how cold it is outside.  For example, I am sitting in my room wishing I had gloves on right now because it is colder inside than outside...
9. Los Mex. (...and other varieties of mexican food, but my heart will always be with Los Mex).
10. ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas.  Mommy, PLEASE dvr some cheesy movies from here and Lifetime!!! I am a SUCKER for these movies.  I love the countdown, I love it all.  In celebration my friend Taylor & I watched The Santa Claus last night on my computer...not the same experience but close!
11. Being okay with staying in, more than okay, being HAPPY to stay in.  At home, lazy days are the best... here. not so much.  trust me.  i've been sick so i've been home all week...NO FUN. AT ALL. It's different with your heat, collection of movies, not having to worry about the movie stopping halfway through because of a bad internet connection...
12. Driving. Having the ability to get from point a to point b without walking in the cold or paying at least 1.50
13. Food variety.  And cheap food variety... I can't wait for home cooking, for good restaurants, I miss knowing what I want and where to get it... If i'm in the mood for a certain type of food, I know where to go... here I love the food, but I don't know the restaurants well enough to just knowwww, other than tapas....
14. Lemonade & Sweet Tea.
15. MY PUPPIES!!! omg: KK, Lady & COOPS, I will be home sooo very soon to snuggle and invade your personal space, don't you worry, woof woof :)
16. HUGS!!! big, good, long hugs!  Dos besos (2 kisses) are great and all, but I miss just wrapping my arms around my love ones and it not being weird.
17. Stephanie's homemade chocolate chip cookies...melting in my mouth as we speak.
18. Sitting on the porch with Granny and looking over the water while she drinks coffee and me freezing my hands off with my sweet tea :)
19. Hearing choo choo yelp and growl at me for getting to close to Nana.
20. The feeling of Christmas in the USA...it's Christmas-y here but not the same.  Just not the same. I can't wait to see all of you and celebrate together!!!

I'm sure there are a million things I forgot to mention that I am super pumped about  but these were the first that came to mind...I mean honestly, I could have done a full entry on food.......

Okay since this is already a super long entry I'll just keep it going with what's going on in my life this upcoming month or so:

1. Tomorrow morning at 4:30, I am heading to get on a bus for AFRICAAAA. Whoop Whoop! We get back super late the 7th... Soooo if you don't hear from me that's why.  Won't have my phone and most likely no internet.  Once we get there...one night we are leaving our stuff at a hotel and hoping on camels to go through the Sahara to stay in a desert hotel...super pumped.  No need for cars...I'll have my camel. Thanks.
2. I leave to meet John in Germany the following week.  We are then going snowboarding in Switzerland then back to Espana.  It's going to be bring your little brother to work with you week... I decided. Andddd thennnn we fly home together the 22nd.  Whoop Whoop!
3. National Championship in NOLA (I will cry if the big meanie polls take this away from me)
4. Baccckkkk toooo Spainnnn on the 13th-ish?

BESOS!

Thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving yall!!!!

I had an INCREDIBLE weekend.  This being my first Thanksgiving away from home I was a little worried, but we actually did more celebrating than normal (mostly because the last 4 years, Thanksgiving has been overshadowed by football and with the time difference I had perfect time to do both!)

Thursday: Tom flew in Thursday super early as my number 1 Thanksgiving surprise.  It was awesome to catch up and spend the day just the two of us.  When he got here he was hungry and I said, "There is some Special K in the cabinet." Ha. Ha. Ha...I forgot how much the kid likes to eat.  We ended up going to the grocery store for eggs and bacon and came out with our Thanksgiving meal number one.
My personal chef...........I'm having withdrawls
Sweet Potatoes with spinach leaves and chicken with some sauce Tom whipped up

After we cleaned up, we went to Plaza de Espana to do some touristy things likeeee take a picture with every city he's been! Still don't have one of us in Madrid together, booo. After our day of walking around and me officially convincing him to move here early January (happy thanksgiving, merry christmas & happy new year to me!) we took a siesta then went out with some of my teacher friends.

Friday: I honestly cannot remember what we did Friday considering we did just about everything you can possibly do in the city Thursday, haha. Ummm... we cooked, or I should say I cooked a cheese cake and chocolate moose to take to the Thanksgiving dinner we had that evening... (such a lie, we know who did the cooking...but I did insist on taking all the credit and he let me hahaha).  Some of the teachers in Sevilla had a Thanksgiving dinner at my friend Caitlin's just right up the road and it was a lot of fun :) We tried super hard to make it to watch the LSU/Arkansas game butttt we didn't make it... I was bummed but I realize the opportunity to celebrate such a sweet holiday with friends was worth it.

Saturday: First & Foremost: IRON BOWL. I put on my jersey first thing in the morning as Tom & I RAN to catch the train to Cordoba...This Thanksgiving #3 was majority ruled by southerners sooo it was food I was definitely used to.  I made a salad as my contribution...haha going all out, I know, but at least it was a big one! I got to see some old faces and meet some new ones but all in all it was SUCH a fun day.  2 of the owners of the house are Auburn fans and there was one other University of Alabama student sooo we even got to watch the game with rivals.  It was a super fun day.  We went and toured the city while Alex, Audrey, Mary Duncan and Allie slaved away in the kitchen.
When we got back we played a lot of games and then finally stuffed our faces! My favorite part was when everyone in the room bowed our heads and held hands as Rob blessed the food.  All the different faiths & cultures coming together to thank God for our friendships, opportunities & food...I got chills for sure.  I didn't take any pictures of the food, butttt I am posting a link to Allie & MaryDuncan's blog where the video of the day is.

I did take a picture of my plate that night!
Sunday: We woke up and had Thanksgiving #4 for breakfast...the leftovers.  The hands down best part! Sooooo good!  Then Tom & I hopped on the train and had a relaxing afternoon by the river and went to bed early so he could catch his flight and I could go to school, buttttt I've been home sick the past two days... Even though I have been down looking back on this weekend and thinking of all of you I know how thankful I am to have each of you in my life.  To have adventures, to have love, to have support, encouragement, my little brother visiting in two weeks, Alabama's victory, and hopefully a Heisman trophy & a ride to the National Title Game (trying not to jinx it) so I can see the tide play forreal and tailgate with all of my friends!!  In reality, I am sooo blessed and I have it all. I love you and I will see you super soon.

Future Me Fail.

Background: A couple of months ago my friend Julie received a super cool email...what made this email so special, you ask?  It was was written by her to herself...a year before.  She found a website called "FutureMe.org" and you can write yourself a letter and choose when you would like to receive it...  I planned on writing one for a year later (like Jules did), but I was in a major funk so I decided to write it for a month and a half into the future...that future arriving today.  I did it to show myself how fast things change and to remind myself that only a month ago I was happy, but wasn't extremely happy, and my heart just wasn't really here...so I made a checklist of things "I no doubt have done at this point" and basically failed on all accounts.  Haha.

The opening paragraph was as follows:

Wowzers! Heyyyyyy girl Heyyyyy! Please tell me you at least have pictures up in your room? If not...seriously Audrey. Get ON the BALL! AND I hope your Spanish has improved a ton..if not...I mean just go home. What are you doing there again?

First of all...don't judge me...haha I was supposed to read it privately not share it with the world wide web, buttttt, you live you learn.  These words struck home to me very very much.  Mostly because I don't have pictures up in my room  (thanks sister.............) and my Spanish really hasn't improved...I mean it has in the aspect of confidence...I am obviously using it 99% more than I was in the US, but I am not working on any aspects of grammar or anything.. so that's a problem...The words just keep replaying in my head: "What are you doing there again?" Can we say harsh?  You would think writing to yourself would be a more pleasant experience, but at least this email was EXACTLY what I needed to confront everything going on in my head...a wake up call per se... What am I doing here?  Some days I ask myself this and just start counting the days until I get home for Christmas...but today when I read these words, for the first time I didn't even have the slightest desire to pack my bag and travel or go home... I wanted to do the opposite...I want to enjoy Sevilla and breathe in every aspect of this unique opportunity given to me.  I am so sick of throwing a pity party for myself while disguising it as a real party...I know that doesn't make sense, but I am too proud to admit I am not happy here so I just pretend I am and try to make myself make the best of it...Don't get me wrong, I love my job and this is an incredible experience, but gah.  I miss my girlfriends...I miss just walking over to Preston Place to watch the latest tv shows, I miss snuggling up with Aimee to watch Dirty Dancing, I miss Gallettes, I MISS ALABAMA FOOTBALL! I miss lunch at Pi Phi, I miss all my kiddos, I miss Benjamin just stopping by, ESPECIALLY when I hate boys and let him remind me there are a few good ones left, I miss lunch at Granny's and Daddy's "special" pancakes, I miss Oxford, AL and watching my boredom turn into quality time with my mommy, I wish I could pick up and go to Applebee's for Happy Hour with Britt, Tay, Anna & Heather (hahahahaha)...Are you kidding, my sister is PLANNING her ONLY wedding without her MOH (..which I am reminded of daily), and one of the friendships I cherish the most [childhood friends, inseparable high schoolers, transitioned to college together, life-long friends]...Taylor Britt is also planning her wedding and I don't even get to attend a tea?! ...I miss so so so many things, but I realize more everyday that that is completely normal...I just graduated college...my life is already in transition...and I would be missing these things even if I was in Atlanta...everyone misses those things.  It's part of growing up,  I just happen to be super far away in the process.

So starting today I am asking myself, "What are you doing there again?" every single day and hopefully everyday I will have a new wonderful answer to tell.  Today I am going to work on my Spanish and help these precious children sitting across from me fall in love with the english language.

Soooo it's time for you to ask yourself... What are you doing there again? ...I hope your answer is worthwhile and you are happy where you are every single day...if not...it's never
to late to change... You only live once, and I mean what are you doing there anyways? :)

P.S. Forgot to mention that they gave me a picture at school today of all the teachers at Pedroso that we took on School Picture Day...I guess that kind of answers both of the questions, huh?  And people say God doesn't have a sense of humor ;)

Besos!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!! You don't look a day over 35.
CONGRATULATIONS KATY!! Can't wait to meet baby Wyatt at Christmas!

El Pedroso

Reasons I love my job.

1. Primera A... First Grade, Class A.  The other day we were going over parts of the body.  We showed the kids flashcards of eyes, ears, nose, mouth, etc.  When we pulled out the picture for face, one of the kids said, "Que fea!"  Which means how ugly!  Manu and I looked at each other and laughed...The girl was beautiful...especially by American standards...Perfect skin, beautiful eyes, straight hair... We said, "She is beautiful!"And the kids reply?  "No, Audrey is beautiful."  Seriously?  Need I say more?

B. The entire faculty. Right after this happened, Manu said, and who is the best looking teacher at the school? The kids: "MANU!!" About 3 seconds after, the door opens and Paco (special needs teacher, one of my favorite people ever!) pops his head in, "Excuse me?" Probably one of the funniest moments ever.  I now wonder if he just sits and listens to our class for the best moments to pop up.  Haha, but honestly I laugh ALL day!

C. Kindness. Soooo I am a big complimenter.  I like to tell people they look nice when they do or when I like their outfit,  I like to compliment.  It's just me.  Weellll, yesterday I complimented a colleague on her scarf.  The conversation went like this... Me: "Aww Isabel, I like that scarf a lot!" Isabel: As she is taking her scarf off, "Take it." Me: "Noooo, noo, nooooo, I was just saying I like it."  Isabel: "No seriously take it.  Now when you wear it you can always remember your experience teaching in Spain."  Me: Speechless (yes, beyond rare, I know).  Just standing there nodding my head...finally "Thank you." ... Later when I was telling everyone at recess about how sweet it was, Paco looked at me and said, "See, in Spain we give...In America, you sell." Hahahaha...sadly true though!

Yes, now is when you start to worry about me ever coming home!
Love yall!

Glee Auditions.

Okay, I have been blowing up all forms of social media that I own, because I really love this girl.  She was a freshman Pi Phi with me last year and always just so sweet.  She knew my name from the first day and always made an effort to say hey to me.

She deserves it...and I love Glee and I think her idea is beyond awesome and I can see it being a part of the show...

At least listen to the video and if you like it (which I don't see how you can not...) click the like button under it :)

Thank you!!!

Roll Tide Anyways!

First of all, sorry I haven't updated...I tried on multiple occasions but could not access my account...long story. Mostly you would have just missed a whole lot of pre-game hype about the LSU game...which as we now know the verdict.

I know, I know.. everyone is making excuses for our team.  I will not, because the outcome is the outcome...I just feel super sorry for our kickers because they are getting some hate mail right now I have no doubt.  The only thing the game proved is that we ARE the 2 best teams in the nation.  Even know we will not be going to the national championship we still have the opportunity to continue winning (...I mean, it's what we do) and keep our name at the top of the BCS standings...even with a loss.  I can sit and dwell on the loss or say Rollll Tideeee all day every day... and I choose the second. :)

Madrid

Last week I went to Madrid straight after school Wednesday...happy as a lark.  I had a blast spending time with my familia espanola and just relaxing.  The only thing I was not quite as happy about is how fast the kids have ALREADY grown!! ...and Veronica's belly :) Okay, secret is out! The kids know so I can tell you...WE ARE HAVING NUMBER 5!! A little girl named Veronica!!!!!! I CANNOT wait!!!  I mean we all know she will be adorable...That is completely obvious...look at them all.  She is supposed to be coming right after my spring break (which I will be spending with them) soooo I am hoping she comes a few days early so I can see her before May!! Marcelo says they are completing the cycle...First born Marcelo, last Veronica.  I adore this family and am SOOO happy for them...and me...haha, just another little rugrat to call my own.  Also keep Chelo and Vicente in your prayers because it is a lot harder for them now with Vero & fam in Poland.  I am going to go back to Madrid to see them sometime before Christmas, but I wish I could go more often...just wish it was closer... They are so good to me, and I love them so very much.  Also pray they sell their house! It is SOOO big for 2 people!

Now for the photos from my long weekend of laughs, smiles, tears & disfraces!! (halloween costumes)

Can't believe I don't have a picture of Casilda's little pumpkin witch photos! Ahh! So adorable!

I came back Monday for Halloween and to celebrate Taylor's birthday (which happened to be Ian's also :( ... why hasn't anyone invented 2 places at once yet?).  I was a dead zombie...Here they go more for the classics ... vampire, witch, zombie, monster... Not as many cutesy nice costumes... the theme here is a lot more dead...

Having a Love-Hate Relationship with Public Transportation.

I am not normally one to use emoticons, but I can promise you if I had them accessbile on my blog I would be going to town with some frustrated faces...Seriously.

Today, my relationship is one of not just hate, but DESPISING all things public transport wise...I just want my car (which ironically I no longer own, but that is a completely different story) and the freedom to, I don't know, ACTUALLY GO TO WORK!!!!!!!!!!! I guess you can tell A. by the fact that it is Monday morning and I am online and B. by the excessive amount of exclamation points that I miss the bus..AGAIN.

I know in the states, it is super common for me to run late...to sleep in, etc. etc... Not when it comes to work. And not when I have to catch a bus.  Ironically the 2 days I have missed the bus are the days I woke up with PLENTY of time...I leave my house at 7:40ish and today I got up at 6:40...a whole hour...it doesn't take me that long...at all. Today was the exception to every rule. Today, there was rain.  I haven't seen rain in Spain yet...Yesterday I saw sprinkle and Taylor and I decked out in rain gear to visit the birth house of our favorite Spanish painter... I will attach photos...it was super cool..but completely off topic.  So today, there was rain.  Real rain. Evelyn, I'm talking our walk to Moody rain...and my bus stop is even farther than walking from Ridgecrest to Moody... AND today is Monday so I have to tote all of my belongings for my week in the pueblo...(will explain after!) So here I am at the 7:35 mark...showered, dressed, fed, clean teeth, packed bag and rain...rain...rain...ohh and no umbrella...did I mention I have my computer in my backpack?! So I make the executive decision to take a taxi.  "Lucky for me I live in the Alameda", (right by the center on a main plaza) which means they have a taxi stop...and another one a block away... so I see 100 taxis every morning...and every morning I think, at least if I'm running late one day I can grab a taxi...Even though I was not running late, I think, no questions asked, worth the money.  HA.ha.HA.ha.HA...like everything in my life..Hilarious. (I am seriously writing a book...I think I shall name it "The girl with the yellow boots" ...yes I was wearing my yellow rainboots that match nothing I had on.)

I stood in the rain for 15 minutes, 17 minutes...and finally 20 minutes...the EXACT time it takes me to walk to the bus stop...So here I am...standing a block from my house, in the rain, soaking wet, all my belongings soaked and STILL not making it to work. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Silver lining (because there ALWAYS is one): At least now I know not to EVER rely on taking the taxi...Lesson Learned.

This week was my Halloween week.  Yall know I love my holidays, especially in the classroom...ADORE IT! Also I leave for Madrid WEDNESDAY so added frustration...if I was going to miss work...why couldn't it have been Wednesday so I could have an extra day with my family?! (ALTHOUGH, I GET TO SEE VERO, MARCELO, CHELO, VINCENTE, MARCELITO, GONZALO, MENCIA & CASILDA IN 2 DAYS!!!...how is that for silver lining!)

I know the title of this is Love-hate, but it's hard for me to do that side right now...hmm... somedays it's great and I think...why don't we have more public transport in Alabama instead of all the cars! I like the walking everywhere and the hopping on a bus if you don't feel like going so far (which I'm cheap so I figure everything is walk-able, haha)...normally I could write more...somedays I seriously adore it. Today is just not one of those days.

Sorry this blog is extra long, but I did promise...If you prefer to break it up..here is a good time for an INTERMISSION.

Act 2: Setting-Cazalla y El Pedroso, pueblo-life.

Okayyyy, now that I have explained my story to you kiddos...Time for the update on my pueblo life! I don't think I have even blogged about work yet, but I ADORE IT! My kids are the cutest things ever...I LOVE being in the classroom.  Signaling my inner teacher (thanks mom for all the Christmas presents of bulletin boards, dry erase boards, markers, folders, pens, and I will admit, I'm still bitter you didn't get me the overhead projector in 3rd grade, but Hey, now I have a SMART BOARD!) and I love it. The staff is INCREDIBLE!! Seriously, I feel so welcomed and at home.  We laugh all day...Somedays we fill our 30 minute (kids are at recess "recreo") break with Spanish class, some days English and on occasion even a little Flamenco.  My assistant principal has been super helpful since I am obviously having issues with my commute and even talked to one of his friends that wanted an AuPair and told her about me...I am doing kind of part time AuPair/english tutor...It's fun.  I am learning the life of the country on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.  Small town, small town...Makes Oxford look like NYC, but I adore it.  Seriously. The family is so welcoming and everyone in the town really.  It's cute and today we are supposed to carve a pumpkin! (or whenever I make it to the pueblo...) I also can't complain about the incredible sunrises God has been using each morning to help me get up and motivated.  Big rolling hills, olive trees, sunrise over the mountains, white pueblo...L-O-V-E.

Speaking of love ... I love you guys. A lot. and I am so thankful you are a part of my life :)

Okay, super long blog entry terminado (finished).
